A KEY
WORKSHOP
FOR
EUROPEAN
LEARNING
CITIES AND REGIONS
7/8
December, 2007 in Kaunas.
Lithuania
The PASCAL Observatory and its partners in the PENR3L project welcome you
this invitation-only workshop in
Kaunas
to meet with some 46 fellow experts and practitioners in learning
city/region work from 21 other European countries.
At the workshop you will be exploring together the many facets of Learning
Cities and Regions for economic, social and community development so
that, when you return to your own cities, regions and universities, you
can put into practice the combined wisdom of your fellow delegates.
PASCAL is also an organisation that can help you do that. Its associates
represent a variety of countries and possess a formidable collective
knowledge in learning city and region matters.
It has links to global examples
By reading this programme you will recognise that we are looking for
implementable results. The active solution sessions will enable you to
both contribute and learn. Each one will produce recommendations for
action that will be later incorporated into an action agenda and
distributed to everyone.
Ultimately you will be instrumental in creating a sustainable and dynamic
European Network, with links to PASCAL global expertise and practice
that can continue to provide an invaluable resource for us all for years
to come.
Professor Mike Osborne, Co-Director of PASCAL and
Professor Norman Longworth, Author, European Policy Paper on the Local and
Regional Dimension of Lifelong Learning, and Adviser to the PENR3L
