The PENR3L/PASCAL conference at Limerick from May 28 to 30th will be a great opportunity for people from universities and local and regional authorities to meet together in a perfect setting to create synergies that will improve learning city and learning region practice. The conference website is www.ul.ie/dllo/conference the opening day will be devoted completely to the PENR3L results. The programme for that is shown below

In this
exercise 2 fifteen minute case study presentations will be made. The expert
groups will then probe the presenters for details for success factors and
weaknesses. The audience will join in at the end.

region needs to do to create a learning region. What are the ten main strengths?
What are the five main barriers? How do we build on the former and overcome the

In this
exercise small groups of 5 people exchange information about the opportunities
and barriers that exist to the creation of a learning region in their own
country. Each person should develop a list of 5 key actions to be taken and
identify how these may be progressed.

Exercise 3: Four groups of 10 Environment (Leader: Kate Sankey), Economic
(Leader: Marti Paralleda), Social (Leader: Paolo Federighi), Cultural (Leader:
Erik Wallin). The PENR3L network has been established and running for 10 years.
Each group produces a poster containing highlights from the PASCAL Europe
newsletter of 2018 within their respective categories. 3 to 4 stories each from
various corners of Europe.
